The mission of Water and Education International (WEI) is to combat poverty and disease while promoting education, sustainability, wellness and nutrition by providing safe water and educational opportunities to the underprivileged of the global community thereby improving their quality of life

WEI sponsors 2 schools in Haiti. Love and Light School in Gonaives, Haiti and Love and Oswald Durand school in Dechaos, Haiti. Each school has primarily the same objective: Primary Education. Our largest school is in Gonaives. We currently sponsor over 400 children by donation funds to cover the cost of education, uniforms, salaries and security. In Dechaos, we sponsor approximately 200 students. Our Dechaos school is relatively new. The school is a modest enclosure that we hope to improve.

Both schools, start at pre-school level and progress to 8th grade. At the 8th grade, students are required to take a national exit exam.

Our students are very grateful for the opportunity to obtain an education. At the schools WEI sponsors, student ages range from 4 years to 18 years. WEI maintains accountability via on site visitations, and student records.

WEI believe that we owe the children and our sponsors the highest accountability.

Students from WEI schools and various other schools, are on their way to take the national exit exam. From there, students must secure independant financial support in to further their education past the 8th grade level.
